Mailing with transparency: our recycled film in focus

Sealed newspapers and magazines scattered on a pavement.
With or without packaging – and whether made of paper or film: when it comes to shipping, protection, postal requirements and costs are decisive factors. We can find the right solution.

Protective packaging is advisable for shipping projects with inserts or sensitive printed material. You can choose between paper envelopes and mailing film – we offer both. But plastic film in particular often raises questions.

Here are some facts: the energy balance of plastic films is around 20% better than that of paper envelopes – as confirmed by Swiss Post and Empa. And mailing films offer several advantages:

  • the contents are visible at a glance
  • inserts can be added easily
  • the packaging offers reliable protection against moisture and transport damage
  • the material is lightweight – saving postage costs
  • the film is more affordable than paper solutions

At Gremper, we use an environmentally friendly recycled film that consists of at least 70% recycled material and is fully recyclable. We deliberately avoid so-called “biodegradable” films. These often do not degrade without leaving residues and can hardly be recycled in practice (they are not part of a circular system).

Packaging is not always necessary: some products – such as saddle-stitched magazines without inserts – can easily be mailed within Switzerland with the address printed directly on the item and without an envelope. For shipments abroad, however, this is not permitted. Regardless of how items are sent, postal regulations are complex and can have a major impact on postage costs. We are familiar with the requirements and will be happy to advise you on the best shipping solution – efficient, compliant and cost-conscious.
